Workcube ERP and warehouse operations for logistics and distribution

Version 1.0 — Last updated:

What should ERP solve in logistics and distribution? Stock, shelf location and lot data must match the warehouse floor, and picking, shipment checks, counts and transfers must run on records, not paper. Turkey-based Gramoni implements Workcube ERP for this sector and moves warehouse work to a barcode device with WAMS Logistics, writing every movement to Workcube.

In logistics and distribution, ERP has one job above all: recording what happens in the warehouse as it happens. Where an item is, which lot it belongs to and how many are left changes dozens of times a day. Typical ERP problems in this sector:

  • Gap between record and shelf. When picking and transfers are done on paper, stock records are keyed in later by hand, and shelf-location and lot data in the ERP lag behind the floor.
  • Shipment accuracy. A shipment with the wrong item, the wrong lot or a short quantity comes back as a return and a complaint.
  • Count workload. When count sheets are collected on paper and entered later, the cause of each difference is lost and corrections arrive late.
  • Multi-warehouse setups. If it is unclear whether goods in transfer are in transit, at the sending site or at the receiving site, both sides see the wrong stock.
  • Banking volume. Distributors deal with many customers and many collections; posting bank transactions by hand leaves accounting behind.

Industry snapshot

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the production value of transport and storage activities in Turkey was TRY 6.801 trillion in 2025 (provisional results). As reported by the Investment Office of the Presidency, Türkiye rose from 47th place with 3.15 points in 2018 to 38th place with 3.4 points in 2023 in the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index; the 12th Development Plan targets 25th place by 2028.

E-commerce shows the load on the distribution side. According to the Ministry of Trade, Turkey recorded 5.94 billion e-commerce transactions in 2025, and 634,611 businesses were active in e-commerce.

ERP use depends on size. According to TÜİK, 28.3% of Turkish enterprises with 10 or more employees used ERP software in 2025, rising to 76.5% among those with 250 or more.

How does a Workcube project run?

In this sector, master data usually decides how an ERP project goes. If product cards, barcodes, shelf locations and lot data are incomplete or inconsistent, even the best setup will not match the warehouse.

Workcube's implementation methodology has eight phases, each with a written output. In Selection, a needs analysis and a POC workshop are held, and scope, budget and timeline are put in writing. In Design, processes are analysed, workflow diagrams and a fit-gap analysis are prepared, and the conceptual design is approved. In Configuration, master data is migrated; Gramoni provides a migration template for each data type and the company fills in its own data. In Go-live and training, users are trained and the company goes live in stages; Support and Sustainment follow.

What Gramoni offers in this industry

Gramoni works with companies in the logistics and distribution sector. The services and products that fit this sector:

  • Workcube ERP consulting and implementation. Delivered with Workcube's eight-phase methodology, covering finance and accounting, CRM, sales and distribution, and materials. Workcube is a Turkish ERP platform; every phase has a written output.
  • WAMS Logistics. WAMS stands for Workcube Advanced Manufacturing System. Barcode-based shipment checks (EAN → shelf location → lot → quantity), allocation-based picking, stock counts and warehouse transfers on the device, pallet management and labels. Every movement is written to Workcube's own stock and period records; it is delivered as a browser-installed PWA.
  • Wodiba. For Workcube users that work with several banks: bank transactions reach Workcube several times a day, and records and accounting vouchers are created for 18 transaction types.
  • AI and automation. Applications that run on your own data, with every result going through human approval, such as records from document photos or multi-channel notifications. We do not train models on your data.

Which needs are met by standard Workcube screens and which call for custom development is set out in writing in the fit-gap analysis during the Design phase.

What it does not do

WAMS Logistics does not do route optimisation, carrier integration, goods receipt, put-away, delivery-note or invoice creation, or serial-number tracking. A count does not change stock directly; it arrives as a document waiting for approval. The product is not suitable for companies that do not use Workcube.

Frequently asked questions

What is the hardest part of ERP in logistics and distribution?

Keeping the ERP record equal to what is actually on the warehouse floor. When picking, shipment checks, counts and transfers are done on paper or in spreadsheets, the records are keyed in later by hand, and stock, shelf-location and lot data fall behind reality.

What does WAMS Logistics do in the warehouse?

It moves shipment checks, allocation-based picking, stock counts and warehouse transfers to a barcode device. A shipment is checked in the order EAN, shelf location, lot and quantity; the office plans the allocation, the floor carries it out and the picked quantity is written back. Every movement is written to Workcube's own stock records.

Does WAMS Logistics do route optimisation or carrier integration?

No. Route optimisation, carrier integration, goods receipt, put-away, delivery-note and invoice creation, and serial-number tracking are outside its scope. It focuses on shipment, picking, counting and transfer work inside the warehouse.

What happens when the warehouse loses connection?

A warehouse transfer made while the device is offline is queued. A stock count made on the device does not change stock directly; it reaches Workcube as a document waiting for approval.

How is WAMS Logistics priced?

A perpetual system licence, setup and training, and an annual maintenance and update contract (LYKP). There is no user or company limit within the same installation. Figures are given in the quote.
